White Ribbon Day 2022

Standing up to family and domestic violence

This White Ribbon Day the Dunedin Collaboration Against Family Violence held a ‘pop up hub’ in the Octagon. This was an opportunity to be with the community and shine a light on family violence prevention.

We were proudly supported by the beautiful team at the Perc Café again this year. They supported our event by donating their time, their facility and their resources to giving out free coffee throughout the day. This drew many people into our hub and allow us to participate in many conversations about local services and respectful and safe relationships.

Luckily the wind and rain held off long enough to allow us to stay most of the day. For safety reasons we had to pack up 1 hour early, calling it off at 3:00pm.

We were so pleased to be visited by many members of the community and hear many of their stories. Events like this would not be possible without a team of awesome volunteers, to them I am beyond grateful. It was a beautiful day filled with coffee, chats, resource sharing, awareness raising and many smiles.
